Choose M7 Standard Adhesive or M7A Air Release

Metamark M7 Etch Effect

The standard Metamark M7 Etch Effect Series uses a permanent solvent-based acrylic adhesive designed for reliable adhesion to properly prepared glass surfaces.

M7 is an excellent choice for experienced installers, computer-cut graphics, logos, lettering, privacy bands and general architectural glass applications.

  • Permanent solvent-based acrylic adhesive
  • Suitable for wet or dry installation
  • Designed for accurate cutting and easy weeding
  • Available in all four Etch Effect finishes

Metamark M7A MetaScape® Air Release

Metamark M7A combines the same premium etched-glass finishes with MetaScape® air-release adhesive technology. Air channels within the adhesive help trapped air escape from beneath the film during installation.

This can help reduce bubbles and improve installation efficiency, particularly on larger glass panels and full-coverage applications.

  • MetaScape® air-release adhesive technology
  • Helps reduce trapped air and bubbles
  • Designed for faster installation on larger areas
  • Available in all four Etch Effect finishes

Architectural Glass Applications

Metamark M7 and M7A Etch Effect films can be used for a wide range of commercial, residential and architectural glass projects.

  • Office and conference room privacy
  • Interior glass walls and partitions
  • Storefront windows and entrance doors
  • Privacy bands and decorative glass panels
  • Window manifestation and safety markings
  • Computer-cut logos, lettering and patterns
  • Corporate branding and environmental graphics
  • Retail and hospitality interiors
  • Residential decorative glass
  • Full or partial glass coverage

Designed for Professional Cutting and Installation

Metamark Etch Effect films are manufactured with a premium polymeric matte calendered PVC face film. The construction is designed for fast computer cutting, clean weeding and professional application.

Crystal Etch, Silver Etch and Dusted Etch use a nominal 70-micron face film. Opal Haze uses a nominal 80-micron face film. The films use a specially treated layflat kraft liner to support accurate cutting and handling.

The Etch Effect Series is compatible with solvent, eco-solvent, latex and UV printing systems, allowing installers and sign professionals to create printed decorative glass graphics in addition to computer-cut designs.

Available by the Linear Yard or Full Roll

KGAAF offers Metamark Etch Effect films in 48-inch-wide rolls. Purchase only the amount needed for a smaller project by selecting material by the linear yard, or order a full roll for larger installations, production environments and ongoing architectural work.

A full 50-meter roll contains approximately 54.7 linear yards of material.

Important: Material sold by the linear yard is custom cut and is not returnable. The appearance, opacity and perceived color of an etched-glass film can vary depending on lighting, glass type, viewing angle and the colors behind the glass. A physical sample is recommended before ordering material for finish-sensitive installations.

Metamark Etch Effect Application Guidelines

  • Apply only to clean, smooth and properly prepared glass.
  • The film may be installed using a wet or dry application method.
  • Apply the material unstressed, particularly around curves and recesses.
  • Install adjoining panels in the same roll direction for visual consistency.
  • Do not apply between two sheets of glass.
  • Do not apply over rivets or into complex recesses.
  • Do not use on low-energy surfaces such as polypropylene.
  • The installer should confirm substrate suitability before installation.
